Welcome
Welcome to the Working Crafter. I hope that what you find here will help you blend your home life, work life, and hobbies for a happier you. I have been working a full time job as an architectural historian for over 20 years. And while I love what I do, I also love my crafts, especially making cards and scrapbook pages and cross stitching. So I opened an Etsy shop and run it addition to working 40+ hours a week at work and then coming home and working around the house.
As I have talked to friends and family about how they find time to fit it all in, I have come to the realization that there are a lot of people out there struggling just like me, trying to fit it all in and feeling overwhelmed in the process.
What you Will Find Here
And so, here we are…and here you are looking for ways to navigate this thing called life. It is my goal that this blog will give you some tips and tricks that will help you find a healthier, happier you. When your home life, work life, and personal life are less chaotic, you feel so much better and more like tackling the other stuff you did not have time for before.
Now if you are looking for all the answers or some miracle cure, I am not sure I can help. Do I have it all figured out? Not by a long shot! If I did, there would be no fun in figuring it out along the way. But what I do have are helpful things that worked for me and I thought they might work for you too.
Let’s Get Started
So let’s start this journey together. Along the way I will share things that I have learned to help organize my home life and balance my work life so that I have time to work on my crafting business (Get it…that is why it is called the working crafter!). Some things might take you outside your comfort zone, and that could be a good thing. Believe me, writing this blog is way outside of my comfort zone. But so far so good. I have tried to organize the blog posts so they are easy to find and easy to follow. Jump right in or start at the beginning and please feel free to leave me a comment (I would love to know that I am not the only one reading this). Thanks for finding me and welcome to a more organized life.
